The 6th of July was a strange day for major sport events. This is because London was hosting 3 event of some significant to the sport world. There was the British F1 GP at Silverstone, European Open at Kent and the Wimbledon final.

To recap the results -
Lewis Hamilton won the British GP, becoming the 12th brits to win at Silverstone
Englishman Ross Fisher won by more than 5 strokes in a wet final day of the European Open.
And Nadal overcome Federer for the first time on grass , after a thrilling rain interrupted final

Job Interview Tips

This posting has nothing to do on my current employment status. This is just a sharing with friends that are eagerly searching for new employment. The tips below doesnt refer to a specific type of interview (technical/behavioral) and can be applied to both

1. Start the interview with introduction. Usually you are asked to introduce your self, so don't worry on how to start this. Must make sure that you build your reputation and credential as you present your self to the interviewer(s). Must write down and memory how u want to introduce your self. Must be done in a confident manner and do not fumble on your words. This session is 2nd impression (first being your physical appreance)

2. Middle session of the interview will drill down to details. It is here you will be ask to share experience , your technical know how and overall attitude. So took this opportunity to focus on your strenghth. One golden rule though, if you dont know, please say so without beating round the bush. People can detect such menourve 2 miles away.

3. As you end your interview and when interviewer ask if you have anything else to ask/say. Simply stated that you feel that your are rightly suited for the job based on your experience and know how and woudl give your 101% if given the opportunity to server the company. For the record I used the exact words in all my interviews 10 years ago.(when I was looking for a job)

Introducing Rabindranath_Tagore

My fascination with poetry started when I first step into my secondary school library. While my stay at Malaysia oldest school was brief, the impact was tremendous. As I changed to a school with a lesser focus on literature , the fascination grew. But the interest exploded went I 'was put into' a science school where I spent 2 years till completion of my secondary study. Eventhough the culture of reading and intellectual discourse was not apparent there, the school's library collection was impressive. It is there that I was introduced to Rabindranath Tagore.
His works includes poem, writing and drama plays. He wrote in Bengali , English and obsecure sanskrit dialect. He became Asia's first Nobel Laurate in 1913.

I would like to leave you with one of his poem that I find to be so very relevant to me as a father and a husband:

Child, how happy you are sitting in the dust, playing with a broken twig all the morning.
I smile at your play with that little bit of a broken twig.
I am busy with my accounts, adding up figures by the hour.
Perhaps you glance at me and think, "What a stupid game to spoil your morning with!"
Child, I have forgotten the art of being absorbed in sticks and mud-pies.
I seek out costly playthings, and gather lumps of gold and silver.
With whatever you find you create your glad games, I spend both my time and my strength over things I never can obtain.
In my frail canoe I struggle to cross the sea of desire, and forget that I too am playing a game.
